1882 (Meiji 15)

KAIMEIDO founded in Shichiken-chō, Shizuoka City.

Began manufacturing kazari (ornamental metal fittings) and tinplating.
1886 (Meiji 19) Began manufacture and sales of kantera (hand-held lanterns) after receiving orders for use in the Tōkaidō Line railroad construction. Sales also began for flat glass for architectural use.
1897 (Meiji 30) Began production of mirrors using mercury baking.
1923 (Taisho 12) Became a distributor for Asahi Glass Co. (now AGC)
1924 (Taisho 13) Began operation of mirror silvering and chamfering factory in Miyamoto-chō, Shizuoka City.
1948 (Showa 23) Underwent reorganization and became Murakami Corporation.
1958 (Showa 33) Began business with Toyota Industries Corporation (now Toyota Motor Corporation).
1967 (Showa 42) Established Fujieda Plant in Fujieda City, Shizuoka Prefecture, to expand production of rear-view mirrors.

Began business with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (now Mitsubishi Motors Corporation).
1968 (Showa 43) Opened Tokyo Office as a base for construction materials business in the Tokyo metropolitan area.
1970 (Showa 45) Introduced business division structure and established the Glass Division (Head Office) and the Rearview Mirror Division (Fujieda).
1976 (Showa 51) Began business with Honda Motor Co., Ltd.
1977 (Showa 52) Opened Distribution Center Office (Shizuoka City) as base for construction materials business.
1979 (Showa 54) Began business with Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.
1982 (Showa 57) Began business with Suzuki Motor Co., Ltd. (now Suzuki Motor Corporation).
1989 (Heisei 1) Entered fine glass business (optronics business) to satisfy demand in optics industry.
1990 (Heisei 2) Opened Yaizu Plant in Yaizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, to enhance rearview mirror production system.
1991 (Heisei 3) Launched OTC securities trading.
1995 (Heisei 7) Listed on Tokyo Stock Exchange Second Section Index.
1996 (Heisei 8)

Opened Ōigawa Plant in Fujieda City, Shizuoka Prefecture, to enhance rearview mirror production system.

1999 (Heisei 11) Obtained QS9000 certification (Mirror Systems Business Division).
2000 (Heisei 12) Established Murakami Manufacturing U.S.A. Inc.
