Social Contribution Activities
Fuji Clean Project 2014, a cleanup activity at the foot of Mt. Fuji, was held with alpinist Mr. Ken Noguchi. As part of our social contribution activities, we also supported this project and 13 of our employees participated in the cleanup activities.
The first half of the event consisted of an opening ceremony and a talk show by Mr. Noguchi, where participants learned that the registration of Mt. Fuji as a World Heritage site is currently conditional and that there are still many issues to be addressed.
In the second half, participants moved into the woods to finally start the cleanup activities.
In front of our eyes, we saw illegally dumped lumber, galvanized sheets, plastic greenhouse poles, and other debris that we could not help but wonder why. Moreover, digging in the soil revealed abandoned fiber scraps and turning up the galvanized sheet revealed flowerpots. As a result, we collected two containers full of trash.
We will continue to participate in activities to contribute to the development of society and fulfill our corporate social responsibility.
